The story.

Note:This post will contain spoilers for the book "playing atari with Saddam Hussein".

• Beginning: The beginning of the book is the main character (Ali) getting a high score on his favorite video game. Then his dad calls him to go into the safe room for the war between Iraq and America. He luckily survives and more days go by he keeps surviving. The country of Iraq has to pretend America is doing wrong because, if they say the truth of Saddam (the evil president of Iraq) doing wrong they will get cruel punishments.

• Middle: While surviving war Ali roams around the city cautiously. He also plays soccer but, he is playing soccer with Saddams two sons and has to be extremely careful not to make any mistakes he also reads his Superman comics he loves. But, his mom burns one of his favorite Superman comics and he gets mad at his mom but, his mom didn't know how much it meant to him, so they got over it.

• End: (14 years later) Ali is working for the American state department,and is prosecuting Saddam Hussein for his crimes against humanity. Ali translates Kurdish words to English so Americans can understand.
